Cable Head Tension (Time-based) (CHT.T) |
This is an abbreviation for a well log used in the oil and gas industry. You might have encountered this acronym CHT.T in your log evaluation software or any (ASCII) log files provided by the logging company. The abreviatin stands for 'Cable Head Tension (Time-based)'. This log is not often acquired after (or during) drilling a well. The values of this log represent the tension of the logging cable as measured at the top of the logging tool At a higher level, this can be seen as a measure of the force. This can be explained as being the agency or influence that if applied to a free body results chiefly in an acceleration of the body and sometimes in elastic deformation and other effects. This log usually has the unit 'Tension'. This is the force tending to cause extension of a body, as experienced in a cable, rope, string, etc. Data from this log can be used to investigate the tension of the cable.
