Job Description
Job purpose & Scope:
Carry out geological and well sites activities, monitoring drilling operations, and data gathering on the assigned well, ensuring correct and initial interpretation of data and monitoring and controlling the activities of contractors, so that they meet programmed schedule and quality requirements as well as rig safety issue. To operate and perform within leading and supporting Cleint safety and environment protection policy.

Principal Accountabilities:
a. ) Provide an on-site geological analysis during the drilling of the well to support the well programme in meeting its geological objectives. This includes collecting and describing cuttings and cores, advising drilling personnel at well site of expected lithological sequence, pay zones, casing depth, rate of penetration and possible hazardous intervals ensure the execution of logging programmes, interpretation of lithology and drilling fluid condition.
b. ) Prepare geological well forecasts and structural prediction through interpretation and analysis of
wire line logs, Geological maps and core data, and prepares Final Well Report related to his assignment for supervisors review. Ensure that all pertinent data is kept in the computer files.
c. ) Participate in the updating of all geological documents such as maps (Isobath, Isopach, Isopor, IsoHCFT, Void Volume and lithofacies) cross section, core reports and statistics.
d. ) Supervise the work of contractors and laboratory assistants on the rigs to ensure proper implementation of the geological programmes and to ensure safe working practices.
e. ) Control the quality of logging carried out by the contractors; approving the logs, performing well site interpretation to assist in best decision making with regard to the progress of the well programme.
f. ) Carry out other similar or related duties such as liaising with other sections, reading geological
maps and preparing reports to gain a good understanding and interpretation of the field geology.
g. ) Operates and performs within leading and supporting Client safety and environmental protection policy
Organizational Relationships (Work Contacts):Regular contacts at own level in own department and with Drilling, Logistics and Materials departments for coordination of work and consultation, and with laboratory personnel in relation to work progress. Regular outside contacts with contractors for control of their work.
Independence of Operations and Decision-making Authority:
Physical Effort: Standing, walking and working with tools approximately 30% of the work time.
Work Environment: Exposed to prevailing weather and working conditions, e.g. sunlight, heat, noise and fumes on conducting well-site operation.
